Our goal is to repurpose ceramic dishes and common household
throw-aways. With this material you can resurface old furniture,
tile floors, and create vibrant accent pieces. Rather than sending
furniture and dishes to the garbage dump, this breathes new life
into old material and helps cut down on the total amount of trash.
In the U.S., 4.39 pounds of trash per day and up to 56 tons of trash per year are created by the average person.
Only about one-tenth of all solid garbage in the United States gets recycled.
Americans generate more than 180 million tons of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) each year.
40% Paper
17.6% Yard Waste
8.5% Metals
7.0% Glass
7.4% Food
8% Plastics
11.6% Miscellaneous
Furniture, clayware and pottery are organized into the ‘misc’ category.
MISC accounts for 11.6% of the total weight of MSW, and 18.3% of the total volume.
